I discovered something disturbing this weekend. I noticed that the reason I've been so content to shop from my closet was because I was wearing the newest things there, very rarely reaching for something that was one or two years old. That I wanted to wear an item that, like a cousin used to say, "the new hasn't worn off yet."
Would I still feel happy wearing some of my more seasoned items?
This was my favorite dress last summer. I wore it at least once a week. I still love it, so it's not in danger of being passed over in favor of one of its newer closetmates. But I can't say the same about some of my other clothes.
The question: Is one year the retirement age for clothing?
The other question: What are my toes doing?

Love that dress - what is it? I know what you mean about retirement. I've started to seriously weed out my closet which is almost impossible since everything fits but yes, I totally pass on older items for newer ones.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's last year's (?) J.Crew Colette dress (not the recent factory version). It is very comfy and very forgiving in the middle!
