10 Year Reunion

This June, our high school class celebrated its 10 year reunion.

HHS Class of 2003. Go Rams!!!

True to every single party we ever had back in high school, most of it happened outside in the parking lot.

But there was air conditioning inside. And a DJ, who played all the best songs from 1999-2003. I stayed inside with Nelly, Matchbox 20, and Britney Spears. (I allowed one Nickelback song on the playlist. ONLY ONE.)

Plus, that's where my Adrienne was. She gets a big thumbs up for doing such a great job with leading the planning!

Look at how great we all still look! :) We're not old!

We're also still as silly.

My favorite part of the evening was taking pictures. I am so happy that they turned out so well. I was especially happy that all my friends are awesome when awkward prom poses were suggested.

I think Cade was throwing back to all those 8th grade prom pictures where all our boyfriends were still about 4 inches shorter than we were.

Amy snuck in an Olan Mills church directory picture. I'll allow it.

Did I mention the dancing? We broke it down to the Cupid Shuffle and the Cha Cha Slide. I even learned something the kids are calling The Wobble.

I feel like this picture pretty accurately sums up high school--looks like something dramatic is going on. :)

Hopefully it will be sooner than 2023 when we see each other again! (I'm sorry, did anybody else just do a double take at that date? It's like we're living in the future! Where is my Jetson hover car???)

Butterfly In the Sky/On My Sweater

Reading Rainbow was a show that frustrated me as a child. I couldn't stand it, yet usually ended up having to watch taped episodes of RR at my school's extended day program, even though we all had our little fingers crossed for Tiny Toon Adventures instead.

I'm a reader, and I think that's why I didn't like the show. Because it was a television show...about reading books.

Think about it.

Hopefully it instilled the joy of reading in some of its little viewers. I, however, sought that joy from, you know, actual books.

The only thing I took away from RR is what I take away from all television shows--the theme song stuck in my brain for life. So when I got this butterfly sweater from J.Crew on my last shopping trip, I totally sang the RR theme song all day.

And now you can, too. :)

Oh, and some more of Mom's agapanthas (agapanthi?), because I love these things.

White Dress

I didn't get married in a white dress. It was teal, and it came from Target.

My new favorite dress, however, is white. Just in time for our 2nd wedding anniversary in June, huh?

Dress: Gap Shoes: Sam Eldelman Necklace: J.Crew Factory

If I don't find a new favorite before then...

I Graduated!

So last night, I graduated for the 3rd time ever! And the 2013 graduating class of Leadership Dothan was the best one yet! :) No, seriously, our class raised the most money for our class project--we helped the Boys and Girls Club of the Wiregrass get a new bus and raised money for JDRF! Plus, we helped repaint the Club's gym. Yep, we're awesome!

And Brando got to come with me! Very handsome in his suit and tie, too!

The (Deep) Blues

Only blue in color, mind you. I was so not blue about this outfit that I wore it twice over the Memorial Day weekend--both times shopping. in Destin and in Dothan. The blingtastic necklace was a prize from the Destin shopping trip.

Shirt: Gap (sold out) Shorts: Gap (or in boyfriend) Flip Flops: Tory Burch Necklace: J.Crew Factory Sunnies: TJMaxx

Mom grows the most wonderful and fluffy agapanthus!

Mirror, Mirror

Lately, I've been crazy obsessed with silver mirrored pumps. All the good ones though are waaaay too expensive, and I don't know how long mirrored heels circa 1988 are going to be a thing again. I did find a $30 pair at Target, but they honestly look cheap. (And I hate the way Target pumps turn up at the toe. I am not an elf.)

But then I realized that tucked neatly away in one of the cubbies in my hanging shoe rack was a pair of mirrored gladiators that I bought forever ago. So out they came. On my feet they went.

Oooh, shiny.

Instapost

Sorry for the blog silence. I've been in the grip of the world's worst allergic attack and honestly had trouble getting out of my pajamas for the past few days. Here's a quick shot at some outfits I threw together before my nose decided to revolt.

Oh, and today is my Dad's birthday! Happy, happy day to him!!! (And to me, because it means I get to have some nommy food tonight!)

Also, OMG, get to your nearest Gap immediately, especially if its the one at Wiregrass Commons here in Dothan. SO MUCH SALE. SO MUCH. TOO MUCH...SALE.
