SHOE BOWS, Y'ALL

Tuesday night, I had an epiphany. Errbody's shoes be having bows on them now. But I can't afford 20 pairs of bow shoes. And what happens anyway when bow shoes go out of style? Then I'll have 20 pairs of bow shoes. And then it hit me (the epiphany)--MAKE MY OWN DETACHABLE SHOE BOWS.

Now this isn't new. I haven't invented some million dollar idea, because if you go on Etsy or even just google shoe bows, there are tons out there. But this is the first time it's occured to me, so it was special.

So armed with a desire to attach homemade bows to my shoes, I found some cute ribbon and bought some clips (which I will have to replace soon, b/c I couldn't find tiny alligator clips or actual shoe clips fast enough, so I used clip on earring bases) and told Mom to fire up her hot glue gun while I pulled up an internet tutorial on  shoe bow making. True story: It was the first time I've ever used a hot glue gun. It took 28 years for me to prepare for this moment.

And only an hour or so and absolutely no glue burns later, here they are:

I'm planning to make about eleventy hundred of them.

Just kidding (sort of),
