Oh, Deer!

It's the very first ever Two Wheelers Twelve Days of Christmas!

Technically, the first post should have gone up yesterday, but in my defense, the internet was down last night. So I'll be doubling up today.

I just wanted to share a little holiday tidbit each day until Christmas--something that makes me feel all holly and jolly about the season. It could be a person, place or thing. It could be totally random. Some of it may be a little weird. But if it jingles my bells, then it's going on here.

Today's piece of holiday cheer may not look so cheerful to you, but it is one of my very favorite decorations in my house--and may even remain up year round!

It's my deer antlers!

I've wanted white deer antlers forever. What I really wanted was a paper mache deer head from West Elm. What I didn't want was to pay $100 for it. But then I thought, "Hey, we live in the SOUTH. Surely someone's got some deer antlers laying around?" So I asked my father-in-law if he happened to have some antlers laying around.

And he did.

Except they were attached to the rest of the skull.

I didn't take a picture of that. Deer skulls are pretty creepy. But my Brando was able to chisel away the, err...face, and what was left was a pretty nice rack!

Of antlers.

Cheers,

T
